3. How We Collect Information
Directly from you when you register, complete KYC, make a payment, or contact support.
Automatically from your device when you use the App (logs, crash reports, analytics).
From third parties such as payment gateways, banks, credit reference agencies, and regulatory bodies when required for processing payments or compliance.
4. Purposes for Processing
We use your information for the following purposes:
To provide, operate and maintain your account and the App’s services (payments, transfers, wallet operations).
To process and settle transactions, including communicating with banks and payment gateways.
To perform identity verification (KYC), fraud prevention, anti-money laundering (AML) checks, and sanctions screening.

To improve the App through analytics and aggregated usage data.
To provide customer support and resolve disputes.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (where applicable)
We rely on legal grounds including:
Performance of a contract (to provide financial services and process payments).
Compliance with legal obligations (KYC, AML, tax reporting).
Legitimate interests (fraud prevention, product improvement, security) — balanced against your privacy rights.
Your consent for optional processing such as marketing communications.
6. Sharing & Disclosure
We may share personal information with:
Service providers: payment gateways, banks, card processors, analytics providers, hosting & cloud providers who process data on our behalf.
Regulators & law enforcement: where required by law, court order, or to comply with AML/KYC obligations.

We require third parties to handle your data securely and only use it for permitted purposes. We do not sell your personal information for advertising.
7. Third-Party Services & Payment Gateways
We use payment gateways and third-party providers to process transactions. These providers have their own privacy policies and may transfer or store data outside Nigeria. When you make payments, portions of your data (such as card tokens, bank account numbers or transaction metadata) will be shared with these providers to complete the transaction.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest where practical. We follow industry practices for secure handling of payment information (e.g., tokenization). However, no system is 100% secure — if you suspect a security issue, contact us immediately at notifications@aza-pay.com.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide services, fulfill legal obligations (including tax and accounting rules), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Transaction records and KYC information are typically retained for several years as required by Nigerian financial regulations.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be transferred or stored in countries outside Nigeria by our service providers (for example, cloud hosting or payment processors). We will take appropriate steps to ensure data receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable law.
11. Your Rights
Depending on local law, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion or restriction of processing where permitted by law.
